Charlotte Lament and Mourn 100K
June 1, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
“We must stop. We must weep. We must mourn. We must honor. We must lament.” – Jim Wallis
On Monday June 1st at noon, we encourage you to join the Charlotte Lament and Mourn 100K Virtual Vigil as we come together to mourn the loss of the 100,000+ in our nation who have died from the Coronavirus. As we gather, communities from all across our nation will be doing the same.
For those who connect through Zoom, there will be a point in the service when you will be invited to participate by either holding up (in front of your camera) a sign with a one-word prayer in bold print or by holding up a lit candle or light. It is appropriate for all flags to be lowered during this time as well.
May we stand together to support and pray for those families whose lives have been torn apart in recent weeks, and may we continue to work together to bring about the physical, economic, psychological, and spiritual healing that our community so desperately needs.
